From six and a half billion to nine billion, that's the expected world population by the middle of the century according to United Nations and to accommodate the huge leap in worlds population urban planners are putting the major role to skyscrapers.
Among many new skyscrapers being planned are, from left, the Mubarak al-Kabir tower in Kuwait, Burj Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Russia Tower in Moscow, Incheon Tower in South Korea, the Freedom Tower in New York, and the Chicago Spire.
